Western Springs in Auckland is a place where I like to sit and enjoy watching all the water birds, especially the shags. Though they aren't as gorgeous as swans, I absolutely enjoy watching them dive to catch fish. I like how they stick out their neck for a breather before going for another dive. It's fun to watch this hie and seek game. When they're back on land, their feathers glisten in the sunshine and this the exact moment I tried to capture in this painting.
