The Blue Iris is a delicate beauty that's always captured my eye. Its fragile folds and an ocean-like blend of blue's make it a spectacle for the everyday eye. What you may not notice at first glance is that I've used tissues to capture the dynamic nature of the fragile folds and intricate texture. In-person, it definitely captures a 3D effect that forces you into a second take.
 
Iris petals have a crape paper kind of soft texture and lines. I am happy to have achieved that on canvas with the use of tissues to replicate the texture.
