Many people have felt abandonment at some stage in life. It's a heart-sinking feeling that can be overwhelming in many ways. During these times, I find comfort in nature and how beautiful it is to be alive. 
 
I always find it challenging to paint with a limited colour palette. It is very tricky to handle red as it is a bright, strong and striking colour. Here I tried to express different emotions and moods to showcase life in this painting as red is full of life. The woman is feeling abandoned, alone, aloof and rejected. To further capture her emotions, I've used black, dried up flowers and leaves. Remember, there is Life after sadness.
